Air-Dried vs. Heat-Styled Hair

One of the most important things a client can understand before purchasing a luxury wig is the difference between air-dried hair and heat-styled hair.

At Levels By Lia, we believe transparency is essential. For this reason, we often show both air-dried and heat-styled images of our units so clients can make informed decisions and set realistic expectations.

Why Does Hair Look Different After Styling?

Heat styling enhances the appearance of the hair by adding shape, polish, and definition.

Curling, straightening, blowouts, and other styling techniques can dramatically change how a unit appears in photographs. While styling can highlight the beauty of the hair, it does not change the quality of the hair itself.

What Does Air-Dried Hair Show?

Air-dried hair reveals the hair’s natural character.

When viewing an air-dried unit, you are seeing:

  • Natural texture
  • Overall health of the hair
  • Natural movement
  • Natural density
  • Natural volume
  • Natural color dimension

This provides a more realistic representation of how the hair behaves after washing and conditioning.

Why We Show Both

Many companies exclusively photograph heavily styled hair.

While beautiful, these images may not fully represent what a client can expect after their first wash.

We believe luxury should be accompanied by honesty.

By showing both air-dried and styled photographs, we provide a more complete understanding of each unit’s potential.

Which Version Is More Important?

Both are important.

Air-dried images demonstrate authenticity.

Styled images demonstrate versatility.

Together, they tell the full story.

The Levels By Lia Philosophy

We do not believe in hiding the hair behind styling.

If a unit is beautiful when air dried, styling becomes an enhancement rather than a necessity.

Our goal is to help clients understand exactly what they are purchasing so they can invest with confidence.
